NATO’s Manipulation Of The Macedonian Vote Exposes Its Modus Operandi
Nearly two-thirds of Macedonian voters boycotted the faux referendum for changing their country’s constitutional name and facilitating its entry into NATO, yet the vehemence with which the bloc is still trying to get them to join exposes its Hybrid War and anti-democratic modus operandi.
NATO membership used to be motivated by a shared fear, however exploited, of a so-called “Soviet/communist threat” which made joining the military bloc a seemingly “natural” decision for the countries that did so during the Old Cold War. The US certainly pressured many of them behind the scenes, however, and it also exploited their membership for clandestine purposes such as embedding Gladio squads into their societies. The Soviet dissolution of 1991 removed the very reason for NATO’s existence, yet the organization survived and has been progressively reinventing itself throughout the subsequent two and a half decades.
At this point in time, it still functions as an anti-Russian alliance after the recent Western-initiated provocations of the New Cold War, but it’s also taken on so-called “anti-terrorist” functions by becoming what de-facto amounts to a recruitment center for American-backed mercenaries. Tiny European states that would otherwise have no interests in far-away battlefields such as Afghanistan have contributed a comparatively significant amount of their troops to this and other conflicts in order to advance America’s grand strategic interests, the success of which they’re told they also have a stake in.
The interim period between the Old and New Cold Wars from the 1990s until the early 2010s was marked by the rapid expansion of NATO eastward towards Russia’s borders as the bloc sought to partially rebrand itself as an “unquestionable” “rite of passage” for the EU-aspiring former communist countries of the former Warsaw Treaty

After Embarrassing Defeat, NATO, EU and the West Try to Alter Reality in Macedonia
Although the September 30, 2018 name-change referendum in Macedonia, which was supposed to set that ex-Yugoslav federal republic on a path to (certain) NATO and (blithely promised but much less certain) EU membership, failed miserably, with only 36.91% of the voters turning out, well short of the 50% + 1 necessary for it to be valid – one would never know it from the reactions of its Western proponents and impatient beneficiaries. Indeed, a new term may be needed to adequately describe the reactions of the key pillars representing the reliquiae reliquiarum of the Western-led post-Cold War unipolar moment. Fake news simply doesn’t do them justice. Fake reality anyone?
The US State Department was firmly in denial, releasing the following statement: “The United States welcomes the results of the Republic of Macedonia’s September 30 referendum, in which citizens expressed their support for NATO and European Union (EU) membership by accepting the Prespa Agreement between Macedonia and Greece. The United States strongly supports the Agreement’s full implementation, which will allow Macedonia to take its rightful place in NATO and the EU, contributing to regional stability, security, and prosperity. As Macedonia’s parliament now begins deliberation on constitutional changes, we urge leaders to rise above partisan politics and seize this historic opportunity to secure a brighter future for the country as a full participant in Western institutions.”
EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn wasn’t to be outdone in his contempt for the 63% of the Macedonian “deplorables” who stayed home in order to voice their disagreement with renouncing their perceived national identity and country name (it was to become “Northern Macedonia”) in exchange for the double joy of a) becoming NATO’s cannon-fodder in its increasingly hazardous game of chicken with Russia and b) the EU’s newest debt-serfs:

The Macedonian “Name Deal” Is A Dystopian Nightmare Of Totalitarian Control
Marketed as a long-awaited diplomatic breakthrough to a supposedly irreconcilable identity issue, the “name deal” represents nothing less than the full and total capitulation of the post-“constitutional coup” Macedonian authorities to their Greek neighbors with implications that stretch far and beyond simply fast tracking Skopje’s subsequent membership to the EU and NATO. Regardless of how one might personally feel about the finer details of this dispute, it’s undeniable that the “resolution” being presented in the agreement is really just a thinly veiled cover for implementing a new type of post-modern control, one which will basically turn the Republic of Macedonia into a Greek puppet state whose people will continue to undergo socio-political experiments prior to having the “perfected” form of this model rolled out all across the EU.
To explain, the various “joint” structures that are created by this document will enable Greece to determine what Macedonian schoolchildren learn by granting Athens the power to censor their textbooks and affiliated materials. Furthermore, undefined “politically incorrect” concepts and so-called “propaganda” that vaguely allude to what the document describes as being “likely to incite violence, hatred, or hostility” through the purported promotion of “chauvinism, hostility, irredentism and revisionism” are banned, with the Macedonian authorities being obligated to prosecute any person or organization that Greece accuses of violating these terms. Not only that, but the Macedonian government officially agrees to consider the Greek-controlled region of Macedonia as constituting “Hellenic civilization, history, culture, and heritage…from antiquity to present day.”

Just to be clear, this withdrawal halt is protection against a worst case scenario… BUT, by imposing capital controls you are ASSURING a worst case scenario occurs!!

Global Research has made available an English translation of Andrew Korybko’s interview with the Macedonian NetPress. Washington’s color revolution for Macedonia has failed for now. Korybko describes how Washington-funded NGOs are used as Fifth Columns to destabilize and to overthrow governments in order to bring countries under Washington’s control. Korybko also explains that Washington’s activity in the Balkans is directed at preventing the Russian natural gas pipeline that would supply Europe with energy. Washington is determined to prevent economic relationships between Europe and Russia that could result in a lessening of Washington’s hold on Europe. With Albania and Bulgaria already in Washington’s pocket, with Washington operative Zoran Zaev creating problems for Macedonia, and with Greece itself possibly vulnerable to a color revolution, Macedonia can expect to experience continuous destabilization attempts by Washington.
It is testimony to Washington’s control over Europe that European politicians support
Washington’s intent to deprive Europe of an energy source even when there is no available alternative. To please Washington, Europeans will even shoot themselves in the head.

Macedonia authorities allege opposition plot to topple government
(Reuters) – Police in Macedonia said on Saturday they would charge four people with trying to overthrow the government, including – according to one senior government official – the leader of the main opposition Social Democrats.
Police said the plot involved trying to gather intelligence against the government and blackmailing Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski to dissolve his cabinet and call a snap election.
A senior government official who declined to be named told Reuters that one of the suspects was Zoran Zaev, leader of the Social Democrats, who appeared defiant in comments on Macedonian website A1on.
“This is a clear attempt by the government to prevent the publication of their crimes and all the evil that this government has done,” A1on quoted Zaev as saying.
The prospect of his imprisonment threatens to further deepen political divisions in the former Yugoslav republic, with the Social Democrats boycotting parliament for almost a year since alleging fraud in the last parliamentary election.
