That\u2019s a central message of the new book\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.papress.com\/html\/book.details.page.tpl?isbn=9781616893002\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Designed for the Future<\/em>, by Jared Green<\/a>, senior communications manager for the American Society of Landscape Architects.<\/p>\n<p>Green asked more than 80 experts in sustainable design \u2014 architects, journalists, urban planners, and others \u2014 to point to a specific project that gives them hope that a sustainable future is possible.<\/p>\n<p>Their selections varied widely, from communities that leave no carbon footprint to cutting-edge technological research programs. The respondents were not allowed to cite anything they had worked on themselves.
