Who\u2019s Crazy Now? American Psychological Association Supported Torture \u201cAt Every Critical Juncture\u201d<\/a><\/h3>\n

Like Nazi and Soviet Psychologists, American Psychologists Aided Abuse<\/strong><\/p>\n

While most psychologists are good people, tyrannies have always deployed corrupt psychologists to punish dissenters, and label them \u201ccrazy\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Nazi government\u00a0substantially supported<\/a>\u00a0psychologists \u2026 many of whom, in turn,\u00a0espoused extermination<\/a>\u00a0of the people they considered to be \u201cracially and cognitively compromised\u201d.<\/p>\n

Soviet psychiatrists famously aided Stalin in\u00a0applying fake insanity diagnoses to political dissenters<\/a>.\u00a0 The official explanation was that no sane person would declaim the Soviet government and Communism.<\/p>\n

And authoritarian American psychologists are eager to\u00a0label<\/a>\u00a0anyone \u201ctaking a cynical stance toward politics, mistrusting authority, endorsing democratic practices, \u2026 and displaying an inquisitive, imaginative outlook<\/em><\/strong>\u201d as worthy of a trip to the insane asylum. (Those traits may also get one\u00a0labeled as a potential terrorist<\/a>.)\u00a0 Indeed, Americans are literally beingthrown in the loony bin<\/a>\u00a0after they question those in power.<\/p>\n

As prominent forensic psychiatrist James Knoll \u2013 psychiatry professor at SUNY-Syracuse and director of a forensic fellowship program \u2013\u00a0writes<\/a>\u00a0in the Psychiatric Times:<\/p>\n

When psychiatric science becomes co-opted by a political agenda, an unhealthy alliance may be created. It is science that will always be the host organism, to be taken over by political viruses\u2026. [P]sychiatry may come to resemble a new organism entirely \u2014 one that serves the ends of the criminal justice system.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Indeed, American psychologists\u00a0created<\/a>\u00a0the American program of torture which was\u00a0specially-crafted to produce\u00a0false<\/strong>\u00a0confessions<\/em>\u00a0to justify U.S. military policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n
