Maybe we can help the good chairwoman out a bit. First of all, human beings are already\u00a0<em>born<\/em>\u00a0unequal. With that we not only mean that they are born in different social strata, but that they are usually born with unequal talents, brains, physique, and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-36817\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acting-man.com\/blog\/media\/2015\/04\/yellen-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Janet Yellen\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/>Fed chair Janet Yellen \u2013 she doesn\u2019t<em>\u00a0look<\/em>\u00a0concerned here, but of course we don\u2019t want her to constantly wear a frown. Anyway, inequality is on her mind she says.<\/p>\n<p>Photo credit: AP<\/p>\n<p>In that sense, inequality is not an \u201cissue\u201d, but simply a fact of life. Ms. Yellen refers of course specifically to inequality in incomes and wealth. This has been an \u201cissue\u201d for\u00a0<em>etatistes<\/em>\u00a0of all stripes for a very long time. However, one must ask: why should it be an issue, if not for envy? Socialism thrives on envy. Its message to its supporters is basically: your fellow men don\u2019t\u00a0<em>deserve<\/em>\u00a0to be wealthier than you are. Therefore, their wealth should be taken from them by force, and distributed \u201cjustly\u201d.
