{"id":7202,"date":"2015-04-10T05:55:44","date_gmt":"2015-04-10T10:55:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=7202"},"modified":"2015-04-10T05:55:44","modified_gmt":"2015-04-10T10:55:44","slug":"the-fbi-busts-up-another-of-its-own-terrorist-plots-and-politicians-rush-to-blame-the-first-amendment-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=7202","title":{"rendered":"The FBI Busts Up Another of its Own Terrorist Plots and Politicians Rush to Blame the First Amendment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"post-title\"><a href=\"http:\/\/libertyblitzkrieg.com\/2015\/04\/03\/the-fbi-busts-up-another-of-its-own-terrorist-plots-and-politicians-rush-to-blame-the-first-amendment\/#more-22787\" target=\"_blank\">The FBI Busts Up Another of its Own Terrorist Plots and Politicians Rush to Blame the First Amendment<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong><em>Like other recent sensational \u201cterror plots,\u201d however, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.justice.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/opa\/press-releases\/attachments\/2015\/04\/02\/velentzas_and_siddiqui_complaint.pdf\">criminal complaint<\/a>\u00a0unsealed yesterday demonstrates the key role of an undercover law enforcement informant in both formulating and facilitating the alleged plot.\u00a0It doesn\u2019t appear that Velentzas or\u00a0Siddiqui\u00a0actually planned or attempted to bomb any target,\u00a0nor is there any evidence of\u00a0discussions about how to create a bomb before the introduction of the informant into their lives.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>While Velentzas appeared to have latent sympathy with the Islamic State, contrary to sensational\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/two-women-arrested-for-isis-bomb-plot-in-new-york-2015-4\">media reports<\/a>\u00a0she is not alleged in the criminal complaint to have had\u00a0any contact with the group.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Their discussions allegedly progressed, with the informant and Velentzas\u00a0meeting to talk in greater detail about\u00a0how to create a bomb, using information gleaned from\u00a0The Anarchist Cookbook, and discussing whether it would be appropriate to target a gathering of police officers with such a device.\u00a0At several points\u00a0in the complaint, Velentzas indicates her reticence about doing anything that might\u00a0harm\u00a0\u201cregular people,\u201d even criticizing the Boston Marathon bombers for killing and injuring civilians.\u00a0During this time, the informant also provided both Velentzas and Siddiqui with printed copies of\u00a0Inspire, including selected passages about how to create explosives.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2013 From the\u00a0<em>Intercept<\/em>\u00a0article:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/firstlook.org\/theintercept\/2015\/04\/03\/alleged-isis-inspired-plotters-provided-bomb-making-manual-informant\/\">Informant Provided\u00a0Bomb-Making Manual to Alleged \u201cISIS-Inspired\u201d Plotters<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What does a government\u00a0wanting its population to remain in fear so as to justify a total\u00a0surveillance state, and a military-intelligence industrial complex hooked on\u00a0billions in wasteful corporate welfare do in the absence of genuine terrorist plots?
