{"id":7156,"date":"2015-04-09T06:16:33","date_gmt":"2015-04-09T11:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=7156"},"modified":"2015-04-09T06:16:33","modified_gmt":"2015-04-09T11:16:33","slug":"smart-meters-enforcement-of-mandatory-water-restrictions-is-only-just-the-beginning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=7156","title":{"rendered":"Smart Meters: Enforcement Of Mandatory Water Restrictions Is Only Just The Beginning"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/theeconomiccollapseblog.com\/archives\/smart-meters-enforcement-of-mandatory-water-restrictions-is-only-just-the-beginning\" target=\"_blank\">Smart Meters: Enforcement Of Mandatory Water Restrictions Is Only Just The Beginning<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Smart meters are now being used by authorities to crack down on \u201cwater wasters\u201d in the state of California, but this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as what they can be used for.\u00a0 Ultimately, smart meters are designed to be part of an entire \u201csmart grid\u201d that will enable government bureaucrats \u201c<a title=\"to control everything from your dishwasher to thermostat\" href=\"http:\/\/www.infowars.com\/judge-power-company-can-refuse-electricity-to-family-that-removed-smart-meter\/\" target=\"_blank\">to control everything from your dishwasher to thermostat<\/a>\u201c.\u00a0\u00a0 And in recent years, there has been a massive push to install smart meters in as many homes in the United States and Europe as possible.\u00a0 Back in December 2007, there were only 7 million smart meters installed in this country.\u00a0 Today there are\u00a0<a title=\"more than 51 million\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eia.gov\/tools\/faqs\/faq.cfm?id=108&amp;t=3\" target=\"_blank\">more than 51 million<\/a>.\u00a0 On the other side of the Atlantic, the European Parliament has set a goal of having smart meters in 80 percent of all homes by the year 2020.\u00a0 This is being promoted as the \u201cgreen\u201d thing to do, but could it be possible that there is more to these smart meters than meets the eye?<\/p>\n<p>In Long Beach, California authorities were getting complaints that a local McDonald\u2019s restaurant was wasting water in the middle of the night.<\/p>\n<p>So what did the authorities do?<\/p>\n<p>They installed a smart meter which instantly started providing incriminating evidence against McDonald\u2019s.\u00a0 The following comes from\u00a0<a title=\"CBS Los Angeles\" href=\"http:\/\/losangeles.cbslocal.com\/2015\/04\/06\/water-authorities-to-use-new-tool-in-fight-against-water-wasters\/\" target=\"_blank\">CBS Los Angeles<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Long Beach Water Department says sprinklers at a McDonald\u2019s restaurant on Bellflower Boulevard went on for 45 minutes at a time, twice a night, for an undefined number of nights. Complaints continued to mount as water pooled and wasted.
