NBC\u2019s Brandy Zadrozny\u00a0wrote<\/a>:<\/p>\n

After over a year, the House committee investigating researchers and their work on disinformation\u2026 has yet to produce\u00a0tangible results<\/strong>. Public hearings have\u00a0not yielded actionable evidence<\/strong>\u00a0that the federal government has been weaponized\u2026 There have been\u00a0no legal wins and no legislation<\/strong>\u00a0has been passed.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Zadrozny in the same article said that \u201cuntil recently,\u201d people like Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, Elon Musk and I have been \u201cextraordinarily successful\u201d in fighting what we call the \u201ccensorship machine,\u201d adding, \u201cin the past two years, government efforts to respond to disinformation have been\u00a0shuttered<\/a>.\u201d Yet the same efforts, in the same time period, yielded \u201cno tangible results.\u201d This is\u00a0NBC News<\/em>. Who edits these people?<\/p>\n

Regarding \u201cno legal wins and no legislation\u201d: as Jordan\u2019s Committee noted\u00a0Monday<\/a>, the House passed \u201cThe Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act<\/a>\u201d last year, and the\u00a0Censorship Accountability Act<\/a>\u00a0recently passed in Committee. If you want to argue a bill not yet signed into law doesn\u2019t count as \u201cpassed\u201d legislation, fine, but \u201cno legal wins\u201d? The\u00a0Murthy v. Missouri\u00a0<\/em>censorship lawsuit before the Supreme Court is there because four federal judges\u00a0already<\/a>\u00a0ruled<\/a>\u00a0government agencies like the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are likely in violation of the First Amendment.<\/p>\n

Does NBC mean \u201cno legal wins,\u201d except the ones that sent the issue to the Supreme Court?<\/p>\n

Those cases came in addition to a long list of developments, like the NIH\u00a0freezing a $150 million content-flagging program<\/a>, the\u00a0shutdown<\/a>\u00a0of \u201cSinging Censor<\/a>\u201d Nina Jankowicz\u2019s infamous\u00a0Disinformation Governance Board<\/a>\u00a0idea, even\u00a0cuts to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) budget<\/a>, all of which are at the center of innumerable mawkish media freakouts over the recent slowing of state censorship programs…<\/p>\n
