Are France & The UK Plotting A Ukrainian Power Play Right Under Germany\u2019s Nose?<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

There are indeed plans for a conventional Western intervention in Ukraine despite their leaders\u2019 denials over the past two weeks, but they\u2019ve yet to fully form and their execution can\u2019t be taken for granted, but they also can\u2019t be ruled out either.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The debate that French President Macron provoked over\u00a0whether NATO should conventionally intervene<\/a>\u00a0in Ukraine exposed the existence of two distinct schools of thought on this issue inside of Europe.\u00a0France, the Baltic States<\/a>, and\u00a0Poland<\/a>\u00a0appear to be in favor of \u201cnon-combat deployments\u201d there for demining and training missions, which could be carried out through a \u201ccoalition of the willing\u201d, while the rest of the bloc supports Germany\u2019s\u00a0stance<\/a>\u00a0that this shouldn\u2019t happen under any circumstances.<\/p>\n

\u201cScholz\u2019s Slip Of The Tongue Spilled The Beans On Ukraine\u2019s Worst-Kept Secret<\/a>\u201d, however, since he inadvertently revealed that there are already British and French troops there helping Ukraine with \u201ctarget control\u201d. The\u00a0subsequently leaked Bundeswehr recording<\/a>\u00a0about bombing the Crimean Bridge confirmed that the Americans are there too. Nevertheless, what\u2019s being proposed by Paris is a formalization of these deployments along with their gradual expansion in a \u201cnon-combat\u201d capacity.<\/p>\n

Nobody should be fooled into thinking that France and the other four that appear to be in favor of this scenario are solely interested in demining and training missions. Rather, their intent seems to be to prepare these on-the-ground forces for surging eastward in the event that\u00a0the worst-case scenario from Kiev\u2019s perspective<\/a>\u00a0materializes whereby the frontline collapses and Russia starts steamrolling westward. These NATO members would then try to draw a red line in the sand as far as possible to save Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Germany\u2019s approach is altogether different in that it prefers to formally stay out of the fray in order to focus on building \u201cFortress Europe<\/a>\u201d…<\/p>\n
