Welcome to the UK where it\u2019s now\u00a0official government policy<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0you<\/em>\u00a0CAN\u2019T publish \u201cmisinformation\u201d, but The Guardian, the BBC, Disney and Netflix\u00a0CAN<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Yes, it\u2019s true \u2013 the recently signed \u201cOnline Safety Act\u201d brands the publication of \u201cfalse information\u201d a criminal offense punishable by up to a year in prison\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026unless you\u2019re an MSM outlet, when it\u2019s\u00a0totally fine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Think even the corrupt & bloated criminal class that rules over us would never dare be that blatant?<\/p>\n

Take a look at section 179 making it\u00a0illegal to publish false information with intent to cause harm<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u2026and that\u2019s without even getting into OfCom\u2019s \u201cselect committee\u201d, or how they choose to define \u201cmisinformation\u201d (s. 152<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Welcome to the modern definition of \u201cfreedom of speech\u201d, where the MSM are directly and explicitly permitted to\u00a0\u201cknowingly publish false information with intent to cause non-trivial harm\u201d<\/em>, and you can be sent to jail for a year for calling out their lies.<\/p>\n

Oh, and it looks like our friends across the pond might not be far behind. The Big Tech Senate hearings started yesterday, and social media executives are already throwing their support behind the\u00a0new \u201cKids Online Safety Act\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the EU\u2019s own Digital Services Act coming into force later this month, and all the focus on \u201cmisinformation and disinformation\u201d at Davos two weeks ago, we can see the real crackdown on internet free speech is about to kick into gear.<\/p>\n
