information about what US special ops forces were doing in Ukraine in the lead-up to the Russian invasion last year, and what they are slated to be doing there in the future.<\/p>\n<p id=\"0fd9\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph ie if gw ig b ih ii ij ik il im in io ip iq ir is it iu iv iw ix iy iz ja jb gp bi\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">\u201cThe Pentagon is urging Congress to resume funding a pair of top-secret programs in Ukraine suspended ahead of Russia\u2019s invasion last year, according to current and former U.S. officials,\u201d writes the Post\u2019s Wesley Morgan. \u201cIf approved,<strong class=\"ig gx\">\u00a0<\/strong>the move would allow American Special Operations troops to employ Ukrainian operatives to observe Russian military movements<strong class=\"ig gx\">\u00a0<\/strong>and counter disinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"229a\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph ie if gw ig b ih ii ij ik il im in io ip iq ir is it iu iv iw ix iy iz ja jb gp bi\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Much further down in the article we learn the specifics of what those two top-secret programs were. One of them entailed US commandos sending Ukrainian operatives \u201con surreptitious reconnaissance missions in Ukraine\u2019s east\u201d to collect intelligence on Russia. The other entailed secretly administering online propaganda, though of course The Washington Post does not describe it as such.<\/p>\n<p id=\"898e\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph ie if gw ig b ih ii ij ik il im in io ip iq ir is it iu iv iw ix iy iz ja jb gp bi\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">\u201cWe had people taking apart Russian propaganda and telling the true story on blogs,\u201d WaPo was told by a source described as \u201ca person in the Special Operations community.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"je jf jg jh ek hx\">\n<div class=\"bz ji l di\">\n<div class=\"tv jk l\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"es n gk dh bf\" title=\"Ivan Katchanovski on Twitter: &quot;Social media warfare. Whether or not they actually see themselves as \u201ctelling the true story\u201d or \u201ctaking apart Russian propaganda\u201d does not change the fact that they are administering US government propaganda.
