It recently made its come back in a new form with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Don%27t_Look_Up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">don\u2019t look up<\/a>,\u201d used in the eponymous movie to symbolize the denial of the population when confronted with a deadly meteorite heading for Earth. It is also an obvious reference to our current ecological disasters that we prefer to ignore as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europecomics.com\/author\/christophe-blain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christophe Blain<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jancovici.com\/en\/who-am-i\/\">Jean-Marc Jancovici<\/a>\u00a0make a similar observation in their bestselling graphic novel, published by Dargaud in 2021 and set for release in English through Europe Comics. Contrary to what the title might suggest, our \u201cworld without end,\u201d as we imagine it, does not exist. Released in October 2021, the graphic novel has been a tremendous success with 380,000 copies sold and at least ten reprints. For the year 2021, it finished in the top ten bestselling comic books and graphic novels, alongside classics like\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Asterix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asterix &amp; Obelix<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinebook.co.uk\/blake-mortimer-01-the-yellow-m-p-3957.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blake &amp; Mortimer<\/a><\/em>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.europecomics.com\/album\/1-somewhere-within-the-shadows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Blacksad<\/em><\/a>. Its success reveals the public\u2019s growing interest in the climate and global warming at a time when the health of the environment has become a major concern and a matter of life and death for many.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p>Rather than denying what awaits us, Christophe Blain and Jean-Marc Jancovici do a deep dive into the environmental issues we are facing.
