Elon Musk Calls Out \u2018Corporate Journalism\u2019 Over Coverage of His \u2018Twitter Files\u2019<\/span><\/h3>\n

Elon Musk<\/a>\u00a0has criticized mainstream media outlets over their coverage of the so-called \u201cTwitter Files.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhy is corporate journalism rushing to defend the state instead of the people?\u201d Musk\u00a0wrote<\/a>\u00a0on Twitter on Dec. 27, in response to a tweet from journalist and documentary filmmaker Leighton Woodhouse. The latter was sharing his new Substack\u00a0post<\/a>\u00a0about how corporate media rushed to defend the FBI and the state instead of exposing them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Hunter Biden laptop story shows the extent to which the corporate media has become the propaganda arm of the state,\u201d Woodhouse wrote in his Substack, pointing to the recent release of the seventh installment of Twitter\u2019s internal documents.<\/p>\n

Independent author Michael Shellenberger\u00a0published<\/a>\u00a0the seventh installment on Dec. 19, revealing how there was an \u201corganized effort\u201d by federal law enforcement agents to discredit the 2020 Hunter Biden laptop report, by targeting social media and news companies.<\/p>\n

Other installments of Twitter\u2019s internal communications have shown how the media giant placed certain individuals on \u201csecret blacklists<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0debates<\/a>\u00a0over how to handle former President Donald Trump\u2019s account before it was suspended in January 2021, and how the FBI allegedly\u00a0flagged accounts<\/a>\u00a0and tweets for Twitter to take action against.<\/p>\n

The FBI has dismissed the \u201cTwitter Files,\u201d alleging that \u201cconspiracy theorists<\/a>\u201d are attempting to discredit the bureau.<\/p>\n

A Twitter user\u00a0responded<\/a>\u00a0to Musk\u2019s question by writing, \u201cSimple\u2026 it\u2019s Corporate Journalism\u2026 Not Journalism.\u201d<\/p>\n

To which Musk\u00a0replied<\/a>: \u201cExactly. Why would anyone trust corpo journalism?\u201d<\/p>\n

Substack<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the same thread, Musk also\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0that he was \u201copen to the idea\u201d of buying the Substack platform, while responding to a tweet from Wall Street Silver.<\/p>\n
