In Amarillo, forecasts show 18-24 inches.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/euro_0.png?itok=oGHXfidn\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/euro_0.png?itok=oGHXfidn\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/euro_0.png?itok=oGHXfidn\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"a283e88e-f2c2-4efc-be97-2e98516a5354\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS model isn&#8217;t as severe, with a large swath of the region forecasted to receive 8-12 inches with pockets of 12-18 inches south of Amarillo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/gfs.png?itok=yA-Fn1ep\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/gfs.png?itok=yA-Fn1ep\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/gfs.png?itok=yA-Fn1ep\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"b80f732d-7acc-4772-8bf9-21664f4fc920\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jhomenuk\/status\/1595130270206033920\/photo\/2\">Meteorologist John Homenuk<\/a>\u00a0tweeted: &#8220;The TX Panhandle needs precipitation, but I can&#8217;t say this is how I envisioned them getting it in the short term.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Homenuk tweeted snowfall forecasts through Saturday that show much of the Texas panhandle will expect accumulating snow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/map_16.png?itok=zLPqWKHC\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/map_16.png?itok=zLPqWKHC\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/map_16.png?itok=zLPqWKHC\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"411\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"06f7c7a3-5785-4513-b02a-99a59e37545e\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The combination of high winds and heavy wet snow through Thursday night into Friday will create whiteout conditions which will make travel extremely dangerous,&#8221; local news\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abc7amarillo.com\/news\/local\/major-snowstorm-could-cripple-holiday-traveling-conditions-in-the-south-plains-significant-snowfall-hazardous-traveling-conditions-texas-panhandle-eastern-new-mexico-whiteout-conditions-zero-visibility-power-outages-possible-impassable-roadways\">ABC 7<\/a>\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the National Weather Service, Texas Panhandle averages 17 inches of snow throughout the winter.
