{"id":6378,"date":"2015-03-10T06:15:56","date_gmt":"2015-03-10T11:15:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=6378"},"modified":"2015-03-10T06:15:56","modified_gmt":"2015-03-10T11:15:56","slug":"the-real-reasons-were-at-war-with-russia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=6378","title":{"rendered":"The REAL Reasons We\u2019re At War With Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2015\/03\/real-reason-war-russia.html\" target=\"_blank\">The REAL Reasons We\u2019re At War With Russia<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The Empire Doesn\u2019t Like to Be Questioned<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re at war with Russia.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Specifically\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2015\/01\/road-war-russia-weve-already-arrived.html\">Specifically<\/a>, we\u2019ve\u00a0<a title=\"launched\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2014\/12\/congress-declares-war-russia.html\">launched<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A sanctions war<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A currency war<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A hot war in Ukraine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Indeed, it appears that U.S. leaders have\u00a0<a title=\"targeted Putin for regime change\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2014\/08\/u-s-targeted-nuclear-armed-russia-regime-change.html\">targeted Putin for regime change<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<h3>Syria<\/h3>\n<p>Initially, the U.S. targeted Syria for regime change \u2013 for the\u00a0<a title=\"second time \u2013 many decades ago\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2014\/09\/u-s-already-completed-regime-change-syria-iran-iraq-twice-oil-rich-countries.html\">second time \u2013 many decades ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Putin\u00a0<a title=\"derailed the imminent American war\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2013\/09\/syria-war-crisis-has-just-been-diffused.html\">derailed the imminent American war<\/a>\u00a0against Syria by brokering a deal wherein Syria destroyed all of its chemical weapons.\u00a0 The U.S. was very unhappy with the deal \u2026 and\u00a0<a title=\"tried\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2013\/09\/u-s-desperately-tries-to-salvage-syrian-war-after-everyone-agrees-to-a-peaceful-solution.html\">tried<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0<a title=\"backtrack\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2013\/09\/u-s-desperately-tries-to-salvage-syrian-war-after-everyone-agrees-to-a-peaceful-solution.html\">backtrack<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>George Friedman \u2013 CEO and founder and CEO of Stratfor, the \u201cprivate CIA\u201d \u2013\u00a0<a title=\"said\" href=\"http:\/\/russia-insider.com\/en\/2015\/01\/20\/2561\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>\u00a0in December that the United States is behind\u00a0the coup in\u00a0Kiev \u2026 which he called the \u201cmost blatant coup in history\u201d. Friedman said that the coup came in\u00a0response to\u00a0Russia\u2019s peacemaking in Syria:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[Friedman:] Russia had begun to take certain steps that the United States considered unacceptable. Primarily in Syria. It was there that Russians demonstrated to the Americans that they are capable of influencing processes in the Middle East. And the US has enough problems in that part of the world already without the Russians.<\/p>\n<p>Russians intervened in the process in the Middle East among other reasons because they had hoped to get leverage to influence US policy in other areas. But they miscalculated.
