Germany\u2019s energy situation is dire, and the Nord Stream pipeline explosions have only worsened its geopolitical and economic outlook<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Germany has become extremely reliant on liquified natural gas from the United States to keep its industrial sector and economy afloat, and since the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosions, Germany has become even more dependent.<\/p>\n

The pipeline explosion changes the entire geopolitical position of Germany, as it cut off any hope Germany had of restarting relations with Russia and regaining access to cheap gas supplies, which have served as the bedrock of the country\u2019s industrial sector.<\/p>\n

Given the circumstances, Germany is growing angry over the \u201csky-high\u201d gas prices it has to pay from so-called \u201cfriendly countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

Federal Minister of Economy\u00a0Robert Habeck<\/a>\u00a0has criticized the high cost of delivering liquid gas to Germany. He says that even \u201cfriendly countries\u201d have sometimes demanded \u201castronomical prices,\u201d Habeck told the Osnabr\u00fccker Zeitung. He said there is need for further discussion in order to bring prices down.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think such solidarity would also be good for curbing\u00a0gas prices<\/a>,\u201d emphasized the\u00a0Green<\/a>\u00a0politician with a view to the government in Washington.<\/p>\n
