outraged by the\u00a0<a class=\"au kn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsws.org\/en\/articles\/2022\/07\/08\/mwrb-j08.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\">deteriorating material conditions<\/a>\u00a0of the nation\u2019s economic meltdown have\u00a0<a class=\"au kn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news24.com\/news24\/World\/News\/watch-sri-lanka-protesters-angered-by-economic-meltdown-storm-presidents-house-20220709\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\">stormed the presidential palace<\/a>\u00a0of Sri Lanka\u2019s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and I guarantee you the\u00a0<a class=\"au kn\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewsWireLK\/status\/1545686446224183296\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\">aerial<\/a>\u00a0<a class=\"au kn\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BNONews\/status\/1545692019288416256?s=20&amp;t=sqqUPdgFd8F0cmlgCV4XWQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\">footage<\/a>\u00a0as they poured into the Imagine how terrifying it would be to find yourself on the receiving end of it.<\/p>\n<p id=\"9151\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph jp jq ih jr b js jt ju jv jw jx jy jz ka kb kc kd ke kf kg kh ki kj kk kl km ia gi\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">I don\u2019t know enough about what\u2019s going on in Sri Lanka yet to comment with any authority on what powers might be at play in this uprising, but I do know that every ruler throughout history has spent time envisioning what would happen if a crowd that size decided to storm their base of operation. If their numbers became too great to suppress, or if your forces who would be doing the suppressing joined the ranks of the people instead, the best-case scenario for you is that you\u2019d have already fled the building by that point, as Rajapaksa\u00a0<a class=\"au kn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/international\/sri-lanka-president-gotabaya-rajapaksa-flees-as-protesters-storm-home-report\/article65619360.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\">had the good sense to do<\/a>\u00a0shortly before the building was stormed.
