{"id":6301,"date":"2015-03-08T08:14:44","date_gmt":"2015-03-08T13:14:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=6301"},"modified":"2015-03-08T08:14:44","modified_gmt":"2015-03-08T13:14:44","slug":"oil-producers-could-see-regime-change-bloomberg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=6301","title":{"rendered":"Oil Producers Could See &#8220;Regime Change&#8221;: Bloomberg"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"title\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2015-03-07\/oil-producers-could-see-regime-change-bloomberg\" target=\"_blank\">Oil Producers Could See &#8220;Regime Change&#8221;: Bloomberg<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>As we\u2019ve noted previously, the US-Saudi joint effort to force the Kremlin into cutting Assad loose (the end goal of course being to install a government that will\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2015-02-03\/another-conspiracy-theory-becomes-fact-entire-oil-collapse-all-about-crushing-russia\">acquiesce to mainlining Qatari natural gas<\/a>\u00a0through Syria straight into Europe thus breaking Gazprom\u2019s stranglehold), has resulted in a bit of collateral damage for the world\u2019s less geopolitically important oil producing countries (take Venezuela for instance, where collapsing crude prices have exacerbated an already abysmal scenario, leading to, among other tragic outcomes, a shortage of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2015-01-04\/now-theres-not-even-soap-maduro-heads-china-save-socialist-utopia-venezuela\">soap<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2015-02-04\/venezuela-runs-out-condoms-pack-now-costs-755-if-you-can-find-it\">condoms<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg suggests that\u00a0<strong>the destabilization of already fragile political and economic situations could lead, in short order, to \u201cregime change\u201d across oil producers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><em>The large petrostates are varying degrees away from the Weberian ideal of the rule of law. That could spell trouble.
