gardening adventures.\u00a0 I planted tomatoes\u00a0on Jan 5, and have been babying them along.\u00a0 They are still small.\u00a0\u00a0But the tips of the leaves are turning yellow.\u00a0 Sometimes data-sizes=\"(max-width: 267px) 100vw, 267px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Again, why bother with planting your own?\u00a0 For one reason, you have access to better variety.\u00a0 For another reason, the Lowe\u2019s plants are about $5 each, which can be pricey if you are doing several plants (my goal is 12 tomato plants this year).\u00a0 By the first of April, you won\u2019t be able to tell the difference.<\/p>\n<p>We still have cold nights ahead.\u00a0 In fact, we are expecting freezing temps this week.\u00a0 So, don\u2019t plant \u201cwarm\u201d plants outside yet, unless you are prepared to cover them on cold nights.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0What\u2019s the difference between storing something in a #10 can, or a Mylar bag, or in a jar?\u00a0\u00a0They all have advantages.\u00a0 The\u00a0<b>#10 cans<\/b>\u00a0are easy to stack and store.\u00a0 Most items you buy online will come this way.\u00a0 We \u201cused\u201d to be able to do this canning at home, but unfortunately, you can no longer get the empty cans and lids.\u00a0 Especially now.\u00a0 Even the church is having trouble getting the raw materials for the cans, or so I heard.\u00a0 Plus, there are some things I don\u2019t like to store in the cans.\u00a0 I don\u2019t like how the flour or the oats smell after being in the cans for long periods.\u00a0 Some say you can get rid of that smell, but I was never
