The compressor stations on the Turkey side are ready, operational, and there are no technical issues on the Turkish side,\u201d a Turkish official told<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/iran-gas-exports-turkey-resume-after-being-cut-thursday-shana-2022-01-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0Reuters<\/a>\u00a0on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Gas supply from Iran to Turkey has yet to fully resume, which puts major industries under power cuts this week, according to Turkey\u2019s main electricity distribution company TEIAS, cited by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bnnbloomberg.ca\/largest-ever-power-cuts-hit-turkey-s-industrial-production-1.1712169\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As of Monday, Turkey\u2019s industrial production will stop completely for at least three days, Daily Sabah<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysabah.com\/business\/energy\/panic-strikes-turkish-industrialists-as-iranian-gas-supplies-drop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Gas accounts for more than half of the country\u2019s electricity generation, and Iran\u2019s halting of flows comes at a time of surging gas imports for Turkey, which have become much more expensive due to the crumbling Turkish currency, the lira.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turkey Hit By Unprecedented Power Outages As Iran Halts Gas Flows A disruption to natural gas imports from Iran has caused an unprecedented level of power cuts in Turkey.
