An uptick would exacerbate hunger\u2014already acute in some parts of the world because of pandemic-linked job losses\u2014and thwart efforts by politicians and central bankers\u00a0<a class=\"icon none\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/central-banks-around-the-world-raise-rates-as-fed-prepares-move-11639750006?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to subdue inflation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>\u201cFarms are failing and many people are not growing,\u201d said 61-year-old Rodrigo Fierro, who produces avocados, tangerines and oranges on his 10-acre farm in central Colombia.
