It\u2019s a satire that explores how individuals, scientists, the media and politicians respond when faced with scientific facts that are uncomfortable, threatening and inconvenient.<\/p>\n<p>The movie is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/culture\/archive\/2021\/12\/dont-look-up-adam-mckay-netflix-movie\/621104\/\">an allegory for climate change<\/a>, showing how those with the power to do something about global warming\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.publicaffairsbooks.com\/titles\/michael-e-mann\/the-new-climate-war\/9781541758223\/\">willfully avoid<\/a>\u00a0taking action and how those with vested interests can mislead the public.
