Germany is a good example of a country that tried to switch too soon to renewable energy,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/International\/wireStory\/correction-germany-nuclear-shutdown-story-82051054#:~:text=BERLIN%20%2D%2D%20Germany%20on%20Friday,long%20use%20of%20atomic%20power.&amp;text=Advocates%20of%20atomic%20energy%20argue,for%20reducing%20greenhouse%20gas%20emissions.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">retiring its nuclear<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/world\/europe\/la-fg-germany-coal-power-20190126-story.html\">coal<\/a>\u00a0power plants, only to find that the wind and sun didn\u2019t produce enough electricity. Germany is now having to rely on Russian natural gas and the burning of lignite coal to keep the lights on and homes\/ businesses heated throughout the winter.<\/p>\n<p>We all remember (well those that are old enough do) the long gas station lineups of the 1970s during the OPEC oil embargo.
