While the veto received praise from environmentalists, along with encouragement to reject the pipeline entirely, the veto provides little consolation to those in Texas who already have the southern route of the pipeline moving Canadian tar sands under their\u00a0land.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon&#8217;t get me wrong. I\u2019m thrilled that President Obama owned up to his promise to veto the Keystone\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">XL<\/span>\u00a0pipeline bill today. But in the same breath I&#8217;m spittin&#8217; mad,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.desmogblog.com\/2013\/10\/15\/julia-trigg-crawford-s-valiant-effort-stop-keystone-xl-texas\">Julia Trigg Crawford, Texas landowner who fought TransCanada<\/a>\u00a0from taking her land by eminent domain but lost, told DeSmogBlog.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNearly three years ago, with the exact same data in front of him he decided to &#8216;cut through the red tape and fast track&#8217; the southern leg of this project. Where was his &#8216;climate test&#8217; then?\u201d \u201cBefore the ink is dry on this veto, President Obama owes all of us in Texas and Oklahoma an explanation. Better yet, an\u00a0apology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the constant clamor from high profile environmental groups for President Obama to reject the Keystone\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">XL<\/span>\u00a0pipeline, there is little mention that the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2012\/03\/22\/obama-keystone-xl-southern-segment_n_1371743.html\" target=\"_blank\">president fast-tracked the southern portion<\/a>\u00a0of the pipeline.
