For days, the UK government has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/commodities\/british-army-standby-resupply-gas-stations-amid-energy-crunch?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+zerohedge%2Ffeed+%28zero+hedge+-+on+a+long+enough+timeline%2C+the+survival+rate+for+everyone+drops+to+zero%29\">contemplated<\/a>\u00a0the use of military truck drivers to replenish gas stations. Now there&#8217;s word the government&#8217;s\u00a0reserve tanker fleet will be operational\u00a0on Wednesday afternoon, and military truck drivers will be coming online in days.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Business minister Kwasi Kwarteng said\u00a0the government&#8217;s Reserve Tanker Fleet will be on the road by this afternoon to boost deliveries of fuel to gas stations. Still, the issue has been the lack of drivers to transport fuel to gas stations.<\/p>\n<p>Besides calling in the military, the world&#8217;s fifth-largest economy has begun to issue\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/markets\/uk-has-ten-days-save-christmas-retail-sector-warns\">temporary visas to 5,000 foreign HGV drivers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The shortage of drivers has fractured supply chains as an energy crisis has also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/commodities\/uk-power-suppliers-halt-adding-new-customers-energy-crisis-worsens\">rippled through power markets<\/a>\u00a0and the food industry.
