It insists that it cannot be affected by the traumas of the external world; it shows, in fact, that such traumas are no more than occasions for it to gain pleasure.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Which brings me to markets. There is always slapstick comedy on Wall Street: e.g., banks opening wealth management shops in China just as China launches a \u201cwealth redistribution\u201d campaign (and shares of European luxury brands slump, showing it is real), or buying shares in Chinese firms that are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pub.raboresearch.rabobank.com\/public\/r\/6sTO9+s5SIrcJy23dWpH0w\/PAJ04jWtcQOHIqMQbGt5ZA\/Efcru+1v_cg8rq2UTLNb6w\">IOUs in the Caymans<\/a>. There is surreal comedy: e.g., NFTs &#8211;literally infinite digital flatulence&#8211; becoming an \u2018asset class\u2019 as a hedge against fiat inflation. There are (illegal!) inside jokes: e.g., when certain names tell us to buy something they actually want to get\u00a0<em>out<\/em>\u00a0of. And there are bad jokes: e.g.,\u00a0<strong>central-bank inflation and growth forecasts<\/strong>.
