And yet, somehow, Assange is still in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Weirder still, not one major western media outlet outside of Iceland has reported on this massive and entirely legitimate news story. A search brings up coverage by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/grapevine.is\/news\/2021\/06\/28\/siggi-the-hacker-key-assange-witness-admits-to-perjury\/\">Icelandic media<\/a>, by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/527699-assange-key-witness-lies\/\">Russian media<\/a>, and by smaller western outlets like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.democracynow.org\/2021\/6\/28\/julian_assange_extradition_case\"><em>Democracy Now<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsws.org\/en\/articles\/2021\/06\/28\/assa-j28.html\"><em>World Socialist Website<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/2021\/06\/27\/key-witness-in-us-case-against-assange-changes-his-story\/\"><em>Consortium News<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/political\/us-case-against-assange-struck-major-blow-key-witness-admits-he-lied\"><em>Zero Hedge<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and some others, but as of this writing this story has been completely ignored by all major outlets who are ostensibly responsible for informing the public in the western world.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not that those outlets have been ignoring Assange altogether these last few days either.\u00a0<em>Reuters<\/em>\u00a0recently\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/world\/assanges-fianc-c3-a9e-urges-biden-to-free-wikileaks-founder-to-show-us-has-changed\/ar-AALr0z3\">published an interview<\/a>\u00a0with Assange\u2019s fiance Stella Moris.\u00a0<em>Evening Standard<\/em>\u00a0has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/news\/uk\/wikileaks-julian-assange-marriage-belmarsh-prison-b942937.html\">a recent article<\/a>\u00a0out on Assange\u2019s plans to marry Moris in Belmarsh,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/julian-assange-plans-to-marry-in-uk-prison\/a-58055351\">as does\u00a0<em>Deutsche Welle<\/em><\/a>. Mainstream western reporters spend a lot of time on Twitter, and Assange\u2019s name was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SarcasmStardust\/status\/1408820627323199495\">trending in the United States<\/a>\u00a0after the\u00a0<em>Stundin<\/em>\u00a0story broke. Tweets about the article by high-profile accounts like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wikileaks\/status\/1408741921846181894?s=20\">WikiLeaks<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Snowden\/status\/1408847450656415751\">Edward Snowden<\/a>\u00a0have many thousands of shares each. They\u2019ve all seen the article. They all know it\u2019s newsworthy.
