“Literally Armageddon”: 53 Killed In Gaza & 5 Israelis Dead As UN Warns “Full-Scale War” Imminent<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n

After overnight sustained rocket fire from Gaza and at the same time Israeli airstrikes pounding the strip,\u00a0the combined death toll reached to at least 50,<\/strong>\u00a0with hundreds more injured<\/strong>, into Wednesday. International reports are citing over 50 Palestinians killed in Gaza alone, many among these children.<\/p>\n

Middle East Eye<\/em>\u00a0cites\u00a0the following numbers by late\u00a0into the afternoon (local time)<\/a>: “At least\u00a053 people<\/strong>\u00a0have been killed in Gaza since Israel began its bombing campaign in the besieged territory on\u00a0Sunday morning.”<\/p>\n

“That number, accurate as of Wednesday afternoon,\u00a0includes 14\u00a0children and three women, with a further 320 people wounded<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0injuries of varying degrees of\u00a0severity, according to Gaza’s\u00a0health ministry.”<\/p>\n

And on the Israeli side, local\u00a0reports cite that<\/a>\u00a0“three Israeli women were killed in rocket attacks, with more than 50 injured<\/strong>, including two women in serious condition: an 81-year-old as well as a 30-year-old who was hit by shrapnel in her upper body.”<\/p>\n

This takes the\u00a0death toll<\/a>\u00a0on the Israeli side to five<\/strong>\u00a0since the start of fighting early this week.<\/p>\n

Overnight airstrikes on Gaza, via Middle East Eye<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The IDF announced that 16\u00a0among the Gaza dead were militants<\/strong>\u00a0– some of them\u00a0“senior commanders”<\/a>\u00a0– while also counting “hundreds” of Hamas and Islamic Jihad rockets fired into Israel, many reaching deep into central Israel and scoring direct hits on heavily populated residential areas.<\/p>\n

Israeli media is reporting that multiple members of Hamas’ “General Staff” were eliminated in\u00a0airstrikes Wednesday<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The dead men were identified as Bassem Issa, the head of the Gaza City brigade since 2017 and head of the group\u2019s cyber network and missile improvement project Jamaa Tahla. According to the Shin Bet, Tahla was the right-hand man of Muhammad Deif and the central leader of the group\u2019s efforts to improve its military capabilities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
