It is now expected to be in service in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Site C budget was $7.9 billion in 2010. When the NDP decided to continue construction in 2017 they increased the budget to $10.7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Shypitka said the cost of the dam has doubled since the NDP came to government and that the oversight committee it put in place in 2018 has clearly failed. \u201cUnder their watch, this project has gone off the rails. That\u2019s on the NDP government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He rejected the idea the BC Liberals should have been more diligent before starting the project.
