The New York Times has amplified claims by \u201cexperts\u201d who are calling for Joe Biden to appoint a \u201creality czar,\u201d prompting critics to compare the idea to the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell\u2019s 1984.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an article entitled \u2018How the Biden Administration Can Help Solve Our Reality Crisis\u2019, the NYT\u2019s Kevin Roose cites \u201cexperts\u201d who are calling on \u201cthe Biden administration put together a cross-agency task force to tackle disinformation and domestic extremism, which would be led by something like a \u201creality czar.\u201d<\/p>\n

The job of this \u201creality czar\u201d would be to head up \u201ca centralized task force could coordinate a single, strategic response\u201d to things like COVID-related and election fraud \u201cconspiracy theories.\u201d<\/p>\n
