The project, titled Birdwatch, is a standalone section of Twitter that will at first only be available to a small set of users, largely on a first-come, first-served basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><iframe id=\"twitter-widget-0\" class=\"\" title=\"Twitter Tweet\" challenges toward building a community-driven system like this \u2014 from making it resistant to manipulation attempts to ensuring it isn\u2019t dominated by a simple majority or biased based on its distribution of contributors,\u201d Twitter\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/en_us\/topics\/product\/2021\/introducing-birdwatch-a-community-based-approach-to-misinformation.html\">official statement<\/a>\u00a0says. \u201cWe\u2019ll be focused on these things throughout the pilot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Such claims provide little reassurance for anyone who\u2019s familiar with the establishment narrative control operations which take place on Wikipedia in exactly that way.\u00a0<em>The Grayzone<\/em>\u2018s Ben Norton did\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thegrayzone.com\/2020\/06\/10\/wikipedia-formally-censors-the-grayzone-as-regime-change-advocates-monopolize-editing\/\">a great two-part report<\/a>\u00a0last year on the way concerted, aggressive efforts by a small group of shady-looking Wikipedia editors has succeeded in dominating the site\u2019s articles which relate to western imperialist agendas and the reporters who support and oppose those agendas, including getting outlets like\u00a0<em>WikiLeaks<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Grayzone<\/em>\u00a0banned from use as sources despite their having no history of false reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe internet encyclopedia has become a deeply undemocratic platform, dominated by Western state-backed actors and corporate public relations flacks, easily manipulated by powerful forces,\u201d wrote Norton. \u201cAnd it is run by figures who often represent these same elite interests, or align with their regime-change politics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2026click on the above
