MSM Already Using Capitol Hill Riot To Call For More Internet Censorship<\/a><\/h3>\n

The United States received a very small\u00a0taste of its own medicine<\/a>\u00a0today as rioting Trump fanatics temporarily\u00a0forced their way into the nation\u2019s Capitol building<\/a>, and now the whole nation is freaking out.<\/p>\n

I am being generous when I say that America was given a very small taste of its own medicine; unlike the horrific coups and violent uprisings the US routinely orchestrates in noncompliant nations around the world, this one stood exactly zero chance of seizing control of the government, and only\u00a0one person was killed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I am also being generous when I say the rioters \u201cforced their way\u201d in; DC\u00a0chose not to increase its police presence<\/a>\u00a0in preparation for the protests despite knowing that they were planned, and there\u2019s\u00a0footage<\/a>\u00a0of what appears to be cops actively letting them through a police barricade. There was\u00a0some fighting<\/a>\u00a0between police and protesters, but contrasted with the\u00a0unceasing barrage of police brutality footage<\/a>\u00a0which emerged from Black Lives Matter demonstrations a few months prior it\u2019s fair to say the police response today was relatively gentle.<\/p>\n

Predictably, this entirely American disruption has\u00a0blue-checkmarked commentariat<\/a>\u00a0shrieking\u00a0about Vladimir Putin<\/a>\u00a0on social media.<\/p>\n

Just as predictably, it\u2019s also got them calling for the censorship of social media.<\/p>\n

The New York Times<\/em>\u00a0has published two new articles titled\u00a0\u201cThe storming of Capitol Hill was organized on social media<\/a>\u201d and \u201cViolence on Capitol Hill Is a Day of Reckoning for Social Media<\/a>\u201c, both arguing for more heavy-handed restrictions on speech from Silicon Valley tech giants.<\/p>\n
