Re-regionalisation as a pathway to diverse regenerative economies<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

If we want to create healthy economies that protect rather than destroy local ecosystems, we will need to rewrite international trade rules in ways that include the social and ecological costs of production and consumptions, as well as trade. We need to protect local economies from \u2018cheap\u2019 imports made possible by hidden subsidies, externalising true costs, and outsourcing production (exploiting international inequality).<\/p>\n

Re-localising and re-regionalising eco<\/mark>n<\/span><\/mark>omics \u2014 while maintaining international collaboration and fair trade \u2014 creates jobs and community resilience.<\/mark>\u00a0Re-localisation can support an economics of care \u2014 for people and place \u2014 that synergistically leads to positive social and ecological impact.<\/mark><\/p>\n
