{"id":55235,"date":"2020-10-07T07:02:24","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T12:02:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=55235"},"modified":"2020-10-07T07:02:24","modified_gmt":"2020-10-07T12:02:24","slug":"u-s-mint-september-sales-134-times-more-silver-eagles-sold-than-gold-eagles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=55235","title":{"rendered":"U.S. MINT SEPTEMBER SALES: 134 Times More Silver Eagles Sold Than Gold Eagles"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header clearfix\">\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/srsroccoreport.com\/us-mint-september-sales-134-times-more-silver-eagles-sold-than-gold-eagles\/\">U.S. MINT SEPTEMBER SALES: 134 Times More Silver Eagles Sold Than Gold Eagles<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content clearfix\">\n<p>With the enormous investor demand for Silver Eagles, the U.S. Mint sold nearly three million official coins in September.\u00a0 While this wasn\u2019t the highest monthly amount this year, it was a record when we compare the Silver Eagle sales to Gold Eagles.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>And, it seems that U.S. citizens are purchasing the majority of the Silver Eagles as Americans prefer silver bullion coins (and rounds) over bars.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For those who might be new to the precious metals market, the official coins such as Silver Eagles, Maples, Philharmonics, Krugerrands, Kangaroos, Britannias, Pandas, and Libertads are known as \u201cCOINS.\u201d In contrast, private rounds such as Buffalos, Walking Liberty, etc are labeled as \u201cROUNDS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While some investors prefer the Silver Maples because they have a better fineness (99.99% silver) versus the Silver Eagles (99.9% silver), there has been one heck of a lot more Silver Eagles sold and held in the market than Maples.\u00a0 I don\u2019t have a total Silver Maple Leaf coin figure because the Royal Canadian Mint stopped providing updates since 2015 on the amount of Gold &amp;
