After all, who benefits the most from this storyline?<\/p>\n<p id=\"3342\" class=\"hn ho eu hp b hq hr hs ht hu hv hw hx hy hz ia ib ic id ie if ig ih ii ij ik em cr\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">But is it in fact true?<\/p>\n<p id=\"d8eb\" class=\"hn ho eu hp b hq hr hs ht hu hv hw hx hy hz ia ib ic id ie if ig ih ii ij ik em cr\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Scratching below the surface of this \u2018experiment\u2019 suggests it is not.<\/p>\n<p id=\"40ad\" class=\"hn ho eu hp b hq hr hs ht hu hv hw hx hy hz ia ib ic id ie if ig ih ii ij ik em cr\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">If printing one\u2019s own money were a panacea, then nations like Venezuela, Zimbabwe, or the German Weimar Republic (and countless other nations throughout history) would never have experienced the hyperinflation that they have. They would be the richest nations ever to have existed.<\/p>\n<p id=\"6225\" class=\"hn ho eu hp b hq hr hs ht hu hv hw hx hy hz ia ib ic id ie if ig ih ii ij ik em cr\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">One could counter that this is because they had to use their debased currency to import goods.
