What You Will Find When You Follow the Money<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>It has been a rough go for California Governor Gavin Newsom.\u00a0 Late last week it was revealed that the state Department of Public Health had tickled the poodle on its COVID-19 record keeping.\u00a0 Somehow the bureaucrats in Sacramento undercounted new coronavirus cases by as many as 300,000.<\/p>\n

Perhaps this oversight prompted Newsom to imbibe in a little meditation and reflection.\u00a0 At his Wednesday coronavirus news conference, shortly after quoting Voltaire, Newsom offered the following\u00a0epiphany<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cBusinesses can\u2019t thrive in a world that\u2019s failing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Often the simplest insights into reality are the most essential.\u00a0 We\u2019ll give Newsom that.\u00a0 Yet, this is hardly an insight.\u00a0 Rather, it\u2019s readily obvious\u2026even to a numskull.<\/p>\n

The world that\u2019s failing, where businesses can\u2019t thrive, is a direct consequence of government lockdown orders.\u00a0 And Newsom, more than any other public official, has his fingerprints all over the offense.\u00a0 If you recall, California, under Newsom\u2019s command, was the\u00a0first state<\/a>\u00a0to order lockdowns.\u00a0 It\u2019s a shame he didn\u2019t pause for meditation before committing the state to ruin.<\/span><\/p>\n

The dynamics of what would follow Newsom\u2019s lockdown orders were predictable.\u00a0 When government decrees froze the economy, bills were still due.\u00a0 Yet many people\u2019s incomes, in the form of paychecks, disappeared.<\/p>\n

For businesses, outstanding accounts payable were still due.\u00a0 Though accounts receivable quickly became overdue.\u00a0 In short, the flow of cash, as delivered by an open economy of give and take, broke down.<\/p>\n

Certainly, Newsom thought he was doing the right thing.\u00a0 He had to keep everyone in the Golden State safe by locking them down.\u00a0 Many governors followed Newsom\u2019s lead, having the same disastrous results.<\/p>\n

But that was just the beginning.\u00a0 Soon the uplifters in Washington swung into action\u2026<\/p>\n
