The&nbsp;National Hurricane Center (NHC) downgraded the hurricane to a tropical storm early Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris Birchfield, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS)&nbsp;in Brownsville, told&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/\">AP News<\/a>&nbsp;the storm&#8217;s&nbsp;real threat continues to be&nbsp;heavy rainfall. &#8220;We&#8217;re still expecting catastrophic flooding,&#8221; he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe allowfullscreen=\"true\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/embed\/index.html?dnt=false&amp;embedId=twitter-widget-0&amp;frame=false&amp;hideCard=false&amp;hideThread=false&amp;id=1287390272268177408&amp;lang=en&amp;origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.zerohedge.com%2Fcommodities%2Fcatastrophic-flooding-expected-hanna-hammers-virus-infected-south-texas&amp;siteScreenName=zerohedge&amp;theme=light&amp;widgetsVersion=9066bb2%3A1593540614199&amp;width=550px\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Rainfall estimates are in the range of\u00a06 to 12 inches through Sunday night, with isolated areas could receive upwards of 18 inches.\u00a0Willacy County, Texas,\u00a0which is near\u00a0Brownsville and the border with Mexico, has already reported 12.6 inches.
