{"id":54053,"date":"2020-07-09T09:34:42","date_gmt":"2020-07-09T14:34:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=54053"},"modified":"2020-07-09T09:34:45","modified_gmt":"2020-07-09T14:34:45","slug":"tropical-system-could-bring-heavy-rainfall-to-new-york-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=54053","title":{"rendered":"Tropical System Could Bring Heavy Rainfall To New York City"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/commodities\/tropical-system-could-bring-heavy-rainfall-new-york-city\">Tropical System Could Bring Heavy Rainfall To New York City<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chances are, as early as Thursday, the&nbsp;2020 hurricane season could get its&nbsp;sixth tropical system &#8211; now forming&nbsp;offshore of the North Carolina Outer Banks and likely headed to New York City.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this week, the National Hurricane Center (NWS)&nbsp;had a 70% probability&nbsp;the storm would develop into a tropical system.&nbsp;If that is the case, within the next 24-hours,&nbsp;winds would have to sustain 39 mph to become&nbsp;<em>Tropical Storm Fay.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NWS Weather Note&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/zh-prod-1cc738ca-7d3b-4a72-b792-20bd8d8fa069.storage.googleapis.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/NWS%20_0.png?itok=WGzRAu4O\"><em>h\/t NWS&nbsp;<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for development and a tropical or subtropical cyclone is likely to form within the next day or so,&#8221; NWS said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system began forming over&nbsp;the Florida Panhandle on Monday.
