{"id":52753,"date":"2020-04-25T07:13:40","date_gmt":"2020-04-25T12:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=52753"},"modified":"2020-04-25T07:13:46","modified_gmt":"2020-04-25T12:13:46","slug":"first-shale-oil-domino-to-fall-more-to-follow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=52753","title":{"rendered":"FIRST SHALE OIL DOMINO TO FALL: More to Follow"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/srsroccoreport.com\/first-shale-oil-domino-to-fall-more-to-come\/\">FIRST SHALE OIL DOMINO TO FALL: More to Follow<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a stunning news release, Continental Resources, the largest shale producer in the Bakken, is shutting in most of its production in the region.&nbsp; That is one hell of a lot of output to shut-in as Continental Resources was producing over 200,000 barrels per day in the Bakken at the end of 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the data on Shaleprofile.com, Continental Resources had over 2,200 wells in the North Dakota and Montana Bakken producing oil and gas during February this year.&nbsp; How many wells will Continental\u2019s Harold Hamm shut in the Bakken??&nbsp; And how many will be brought back online, at to what cost, when the market recovers??<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Reuters,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/continental-resources-shale-north-dakota\/continental-resources-halts-shale-output-seeks-to-cancel-sales-idUSL2N2CB2TO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em><strong>Continental Resources halts shale output, seeks to cancel sales<\/strong><\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>April 23 (Reuters) \u2013&nbsp;<strong>The largest oil producer in North Dakota has halted most of its production in the state, notifying some customers it would not supply crude at current pricing<\/strong>, according to people familiar with the matter.<\/p><p>Continental Resources Inc, the company controlled by billionaire Harold Hamm, stopped all drilling and shut in most of its wells in the state\u2019s Bakken shale field, said three people familiar with production in the state.
