It\u2019s over an R0 study on \u20182019-ncov\u2019, which is the official designation for the Wuhan coronavirus (as a reminder, R0 is a measure of how contagious a virus is).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study is creating a stir because it initially reported an R0 of 3.8, but then was swiftly downgraded to 2.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, it\u2019s important to know that an R0 of 2.5 is still very bad.&nbsp; That\u2019s at the top end of previously reported ranges that were in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peakprosperity.com\/video-the-risk-of-a-true-pandemic-is-higher-than-were-being-told\/\">my video alert<\/a>&nbsp;from yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This specific Tweet garnered a lot of attention because a Harvard trained epidemiologist used some very inflammatory language:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/media.peakprosperity.com\/images\/Eric-Ting-38-2020-01-25_8-23-34.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So who is Dr Ting?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He\u2019s a Harvard trained epidemiologist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/media.peakprosperity.com\/images\/Eric-Ring-Bio-2020-01-25_8-24-49.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Ting was reacting to a new study that estimated the coronavirus\u2019 R0 using available data.&nbsp; Here\u2019s the Twitter thread he posted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How Contagious Is The Coronavirus?
