Pink Floyd\u2019s lyrics from their existential album \u2013 Dark Side of the Moon \u2013 continue to resonate today, even more than they did in 1973.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Breathe<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f4.bcbits.com\/img\/0016728232_10.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for pink floyd breathe&quot;\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Breathe, breathe in the air<br>Don\u2019t be afraid to care<br>Leave, don\u2019t leave me<br>Look around, choose your own ground<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Long you live and high you fly<\/em><br><em>Smiles you\u2019ll give and tears you\u2019ll cry<\/em><br><em>And all you touch and all you see<\/em><br><em>Is all your life will ever be<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I knew\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theburningplatform.com\/2019\/12\/01\/see-you-on-the-dark-side-of-the-moon\/\">Part 1<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of this article would be easier to write than Part 2 because I\u2019m more comfortable writing about financial issues and expounding upon the political and economic degradation of our empire of debt. Pondering my life and choices I\u2019ve made or haven\u2019t made is something I\u2019d rather not think about. But, as I was driving home from getting blood work done last Saturday morning, the haunting chords of Breathe emanated from my car radio, urging me to tackle the rest of my article. Breathe is a very short instrumental piece of less than 3 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the first song on the album, setting the melancholy tone for the rest of the album. To me, Waters\u2019 lyrics are addressing how we all have a choice on how we live our lives. We take our first breath and if we are lucky have about eighty years on this planet.
