{"id":49377,"date":"2019-11-02T13:52:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-02T18:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=49377"},"modified":"2019-11-04T06:14:53","modified_gmt":"2019-11-04T11:14:53","slug":"the-end-of-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=49377","title":{"rendered":"The End Of Money"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peakprosperity.com\/the-end-of-money-3\/\">The End Of Money<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prepare for the coming wealth transfer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today we live in a bifurcated economy: it is boom times for some and bust times for others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your personal situation depends largely on how close you fall on the socioeconomic spectrum to the protected elite class, towards which the central banks are directing their money-printing firehoses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why should we care about this bifurcation?&nbsp;<em>History.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2,000 years ago, in Plutarch\u2019s time, it was already \u2018old wisdom\u2019 that unhealthy wealth imbalances ended badly for society:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"178\" src=\"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Plutarch-2017-07-28_7-24-10.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Plutarch-2017-07-28_7-24-10.jpg 500w, https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Plutarch-2017-07-28_7-24-10-300x107.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even those near the top of the wealth pyramid don\u2019t aspire to live surrounded by an impoverished underclass, forced to live hiding behind their fortifications and guards, hoping the unrest of the masses doesn\u2019t get any worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But sadly, the US is not far off from this fate\u2026this is Los Angeles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"252\" src=\"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/LA-homeless-2019-11-01_18-25-42.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/LA-homeless-2019-11-01_18-25-42.jpg 400w, https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/LA-homeless-2019-11-01_18-25-42-300x189.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The streets of San Francisco, Seattle, and a growing number of other once-proud American cities look very similar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I care about our social stability which is why I believe in having a strong and vibrant middle class \u2013 something the US Federal Reserve is working to destroy with every intervention.&nbsp; It has been a shameless champion of the entrenched ultra-rich and powerful; at the expense of everyone else.&nbsp; Because of this, I\u2019ve been a fierce critic of the Fed and its policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Money vs Real Wealth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I happen to know a good deal about our current system of money; how it is created, how it functions, its benefits and its darker aspects. I find it critical to remember that it isn\u2019t actually \u201creal\u201d. Rather, it is a concept. Specifically, it\u2019s a social contract.&nbsp; An agreement.
