{"id":4899,"date":"2015-01-27T06:37:59","date_gmt":"2015-01-27T11:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=4899"},"modified":"2015-01-27T06:37:59","modified_gmt":"2015-01-27T11:37:59","slug":"russia-in-the-cross-hairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=4899","title":{"rendered":"Russia In The Cross Hairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulcraigroberts.org\/2015\/01\/26\/russia-cross-hairs-paul-craig-roberts\/\" target=\"_blank\">Russia In The Cross Hairs<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Washington\u2019s attack on Russia has moved beyond the boundary of the absurd into the realm of insanity.<\/p>\n<p>The New Chief of the US Broadcasting Board of Governors, Andrew Lack, has declared the Russian news service, RT, which broadcasts in multiple languages, to be a terrorist organization equivalent to Boko Haram and the Islamic State, and Standard and Poor\u2019s just downgraded Russia\u2019s credit rating to junk status.<\/p>\n<p>Today RT International interviewed me about these insane developments.<\/p>\n<p>In prior days when America was still a sane country, Lack\u2019s charge would have led to him being laughed out of office. He would have had to resign and disappear from public life. Today in the make-believe world that Western propaganda has created, Lack\u2019s statement is taken seriously. Yet another terrorist threat has been identified\u2013RT. (Although both Boko Haram and the Islamic State employ terror, strictly speaking they are political organizations seeking to rule, not terror organizations, but this distinction would be over Lack\u2019s head. Yes, I know. There is a good joke that could be made here about what Lack lacks. Appropriately named and all that.)<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, whatever Lack might lack, I doubt he believes his nonsensical statement that RT is a terrorist organization.
