Old Farmer\u2019s Almanac Predicts \u2018Snow-verload\u2019 Winter Across Much of US<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Old Farmer\u2019s Almanac is forecasting that portions<\/a> of the United States will see a \u201csnow-verload\u201d during what has been described as a snowy winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, it is predicting a \u201cwet and wild\u201d 2019-20 winter in the northeastern U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But overall, it is calling for \u201cshivers, snowflakes \u2026 and strong storms\u201d with the \u201csnow-verload\u201d impacting northern states in the Midwest and West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the U.S., this winter will be remembered for strong storms bringing a steady roofbeat of heavy rain and sleet, not to mention piles of snow. The 2020 Old Farmer\u2019s Almanac is calling for frequent snow events\u2014from flurries to no fewer than seven big snowstorms from coast to coast, including two in April for the Intermountain region west of the Rockies,\u201d it wrote on its website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the middle of the country and New England will have \u201cmore wet than white\u201d conditions. \u201cMeanwhile, much of the Deep South will be saturated by soakers. As winter rages, the tip of the nice-berg will be Florida, the Gulf Coast, and Texas, which will bask in pleasant weather,\u201d the Almanac said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temperatures will also plunge \u201cfrom the Heartland westward to the Pacific and in the Desert Southwest, Pacific Southwest, and Hawaii,\u201d it added. Above-normal temperatures are forecast elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cold in those areas will last until Valentine\u2019s Day, or Feb. 14, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
