Me neither. But according to&nbsp;<em>The Washington Post<\/em>, whose sole owner&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alternet.org\/2013\/12\/owner-washington-post-doing-business-cia-while-keeping-his-readers-dark\/\">is a CIA contractor<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geekwire.com\/2016\/amazon-jeff-bezos-defense-innovation-advisory-board\/\">Pentagon board member<\/a>&nbsp;bent on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en_us\/article\/7xpgvx\/amazons-is-trying-to-control-the-underlying-infrastructure-of-our-economy\">hijacking the underlying infrastructure of the economy<\/a>, we should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WaPo columnist David Ignatius, who has been&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenation.com\/article\/russiagate-elections-interference\/\">one of the more hyperbolic promulgators<\/a>&nbsp;of western Russia hysteria in written media, has published an article titled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.is\/TbSKU\">Why America is losing the information war to Russia<\/a>\u201d about a new book by former State Department undersecretary for public diplomacy Richard Stengel. Stengel and Ignatius engage in a joyful Red Scare frolic with the exuberance of two little boys with a box of spray paints, each trying to one-up the other in hysterical apocalyptic ominousness about the way evil, authoritarian governments like Russia have been able to weaponize information while freedom-loving democracies can only look on in passive despair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe cruel paradox of the Internet, once hailed as a liberating force, is that it empowers governments that control information and enfeebles those that let it run free,\u201d warns Ignatius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c[Authoritarian governments] have gone from fearing the flow of information to exploiting it,\u201d cautions Stengel. \u201cThey understand that the same tools that spread democracy can engineer its undoing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unsurprisingly, at no point during this brotherly romp does Ignatius bother to make mention of the fact that Stengel\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xOPmx1LCzwY\">is actually on record<\/a>\u00a0saying he supports the use of propaganda and believes the US government should be using it on its own citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WaPo Warns USA Needs More Narrative Control As Pentagon Ramps Up Narrative Control Do you lay awake at night terrified that the Russians are able to control your mind with information warfare while the US government\u2019s slavish devotion to democratic values leaves it powerless to stop them?
