Trump Says Tanker Attack Has “Iran Written All Over It” As Tehran Slams US\u00a0“False Flag”<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Iran has slammed what it’s mission to the United Nations said are “unfounded and reckless” claims put forth yesterday by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accusing Iran of conducting the “blatant” attack on two international oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday. Meanwhile President Trump on Friday morning told Fox & Friends <\/em>that the tanker attacks had \u201cIran written all over it\u201d <\/strong>and dismissed Iran as \u201ca nation of terror.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, Iranian officials have accused the US or one of its allies of conducing a false flag operation as part of the \u201cdisinformation campaign\u201d<\/strong> to continue its \u201cmaximum pressure\u201d which aims at bringing Tehran into the cross hairs of a US-led war.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe US and its regional allies must stop warmongering and put an end to mischievous plots and false flag operations in the region,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Iran’s mission to the United Nations said<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Issued late Thursday, the statement said further: \u201cWarning, once again, about all of the US coercion, intimidation and malign behavior, Iran expresses concern over suspicious incidents<\/strong> for the oil tankers that occurred today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The US economic war and terrorism against the Iranian people as well as the massive military presence in the region have been and continue to be the main sources of insecurity and instability in the wider Persian Gulf region and the most significant threat to its peace and security,” the statement continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran’s foreign minister also later described\u00a0the US accusations as\u00a0“sabotage diplomacy”<\/strong>\u00a0following his previous comments posted to Twitter saying \u201cSuspicious doesn\u2019t begin to describe what likely transpired\u201d\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<\/em>especially given Iran’s president and the Ayatollah were\u00a0hosting Japanese Prime Minister\u00a0Shinz\u014d Abe to mediate nuclear deal matters and sanctions relief at the very moment the attack took place<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
