In an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/can-climate-change-cause-conflict\/\">exacting statistical analysis of wars<\/a>fought between 1980 and 2010 the connection between war and climate change is undeniable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dod.defense.gov\/News\/Article\/Article\/603440\/\">US military<\/a>&nbsp;itself has long recognized climate change as a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/truthout.org\/articles\/war-and-climate-change-time-to-connect-the-dots\/\">\u201cthreat multiplier.\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;The last three Pentagon&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.defense.gov\/qdr\">Quadrennial Defense Reviews<\/a>characterized climate change as a threat to national security.[1]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the idea of climate change as \u201cthreat multiplier\u201d tends to encourage militarized responses, (like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/theweek.com\/speedreads\/841598\/elizabeth-warren-climate-change-plan--military\">Elizabeth Warren\u2019s recent proposals<\/a>) this information is widely reported in the pro-war media and I will not repeat it here. The military and their media allies fall silent when it comes to a far more important truth: war causes climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>War Causes Climate Chaos<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the core of the corporate state is the war machine, the world\u2019s largest polluter. Despite the exemptions from reporting on military pollution that the US demanded&nbsp;in the 1997 Kyoto Accords and continued suppression of information by the military, the general picture comes through. Consider the evidence linking fossil fuels and war making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>+ The US military is the world\u2019s largest polluters of all forms of toxins.
