Our Federal Reserve has incessantly lifted interest rates,  even though inflation is very low, and instituted a very big dose of quantitative tightening. We have the potential to go&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/profile_images\/874276197357596672\/kUuht00m_normal.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\"><strong><\/strong><strong>\u2714<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/1123287154833203200\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;.up like a rocket if we did some lowering of rates, like one point, and some quantitative easing. Yes, we are doing very well at 3.2% GDP, but with our wonderfully low inflation, we could be setting major records &amp;, at the same time, make our National Debt start to look small!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it\u2019s hard to say if inflation is as \u201cwonderfully low\u201d as POTUS claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After all, official sources saw CPI&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tradingeconomics.com\/united-states\/inflation-cpi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inflation jump to 1.9%<\/a>, with rapidly rising food prices reported as the leading cause. Plus, the \u201cgrowing\u201d economy POTUS alludes to appears to have topped out since January 2018 (see red arrow in the chart below \u2013&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/bigcharts.marketwatch.com\/quickchart\/quickchart.asp?symb=djia&amp;insttype=&amp;freq=2&amp;show=&amp;time=13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">source<\/a>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.birchgold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DJIA-Weekly.png\" alt=\"DJIA Weekly Inflation\" class=\"wp-image-14802\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, according to an official&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tradingeconomics.com\/united-states\/gdp-growth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">source<\/a>, a 3.2% or higher GDP growth rate has happened on&nbsp;<strong>3 different<\/strong>occasions&nbsp;<em>before<\/em>&nbsp;POTUS took office. The same source also reports that GDP Growth Rate in the United States&nbsp;<em>averaged 3.22 percent from 1947 until 2019<\/em>. So really, current GDP growth only appears to be on par with the average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White House officials including POTUS and top economic advisor Larry Kudlow have recommended the Fed cut rates by half a point in the past.
