The launch will be in Darwin, and will include systems to monitor people and their activity on their cell phones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new system is based on monitoring programs in Shenzhen, China, where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is testing its Social Credit System. Officials on the Darwin council traveled to Shenzhen, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntnews.com.au\/news\/council-to-return-to-shenzhen-for-final-assessments-as-smart-city-project-comes-to-an-end\/news-story\/06de2544dd5238fb4edeeb9d5e88139c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NT News<\/a>&nbsp;to \u201chave a chance to see exactly how their Smart Technology works prior to being fully rolled out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Darwin, they\u2019ve already constructed \u201cpoles, fitted with speakers, cameras and Wi-Fi,\u201d according to NT News, which will monitor people, their movements around the city, the websites they visit, and what apps they use. The monitoring will be done mainly by artificial intelligence, but will alert authorities on set triggers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like in China, the surveillance system is being branded as a \u201csmart city\u201d program, and while Australian officials claim it\u2019s operations are benign, they\u2019ve announced it functions to monitor cell phone activity and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntnews.com.au\/news\/darwin-to-build-future-on-smart-technology-based-on-cities-in-china-and-taiwan\/news-story\/2b72d3fcd22839d5c83a07515c77e49d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">virtual fences<\/a>\u201d that will trigger alerts if people cross them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll be getting sent an alarm saying \u2018there\u2019s a person in this area that you\u2019ve put a virtual fence around\u2019 \u2026 boom an alert goes out to whatever authority, whether it\u2019s us or police to say \u2018look at camera five\u2019,\u201d said Josh Sattler\u2014the Darwin council\u2019s general manager for innovation, growth, and development services\u2014according to NT News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The nature of the \u201cvirtual fences\u201d and what type of activity will sound an alarm is still not being made clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Manan Vatsyayana\/AFP\/Getty Images) China\u2019s Big Brother Social Control Goes to Australia Australia is preparing to launch its own version of the Chinese regime\u2019s high-tech system for monitoring and controlling its citizens.
