{"id":45418,"date":"2019-04-16T07:27:49","date_gmt":"2019-04-16T12:27:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=45418"},"modified":"2019-04-16T07:27:51","modified_gmt":"2019-04-16T12:27:51","slug":"canada-to-russia-interference-is-okay-if-it-destabilizes-you-but-not-the-other-way-around","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=45418","title":{"rendered":"Canada to Russia: Interference Is Okay If It Destabilizes You but Not the Other Way Around"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.strategic-culture.org\/images\/news\/2019\/04\/15\/or-42529.jpg?74635\" alt=\"Canada to Russia: Interference Is Okay If It Destabilizes You but Not the Other Way Around\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.strategic-culture.org\/news\/2019\/04\/15\/canada-russia-interference-okay-if-destabilizes-you-but-not-other-way-around.html\">Canada to Russia: Interference Is Okay If It Destabilizes You but Not the Other Way Around<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the midst of one of the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/canadianpatriot.org\/snc-lavalin-under-attack-the-physical-economy-is-melting-down-and-a-fight-for-the-new-system-is-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most de-stabilizing scandals<\/a>&nbsp;to rock Canada in years, Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/politics\/canada-expects-meddling-chrystia-freeland-1.5085900\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;on April 5 that the threat of \u201cForeign interference\u201d going into the October 2019 elections was at an all-time high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sitting beside her UK counterpart at a G7 meeting in France, Freeland stated:&nbsp;<em>\u201cInterference is very likely and we think there have already been efforts by malign foreign actors to disrupt our democracy\u201d<\/em>.&nbsp;Her warning was echoed by an embattled puppet Prime Minister in Ottawa who&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rferl.org\/a\/canada-warns-of-russian-interference-in-parliamentary-elections\/29864687.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stated<\/a>&nbsp;it&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>\u201cvery clearly that countries like Russia are behind a lot of the divisive campaigns \u2026 that have turned our politics even more divisive and more anger-filled than they have been in the past.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Measures to Defend the British Deep State<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to counteract this \u201cforeign threat\u201d, several Canadian mechanisms have been announced to \u201ckeep democracy safe\u201d in alignment with the G7, Five Eyes and NATO. These mechanisms are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The creation of an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/politics\/election-interference-panel-1.4998409\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Incident Public Protection Panel<\/a>\u201d&nbsp;run by five Privy Council bureaucrats under the Clerk of the Privy Council which will exist outside of the authority of the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, whose job is to maintain the integrity of elections. In defense of this mysterious group, Canada\u2019s Democratic Institutions Minister Karina Gould stated that&nbsp;<em>\u201cit won\u2019t be one person who will decide what Canadians will be allowed to know\u201d&nbsp;<\/em>(apparently having five people decide is more democratic).
