{"id":45341,"date":"2019-04-13T08:53:48","date_gmt":"2019-04-13T13:53:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=45341"},"modified":"2019-04-13T08:53:51","modified_gmt":"2019-04-13T13:53:51","slug":"trump-signs-ambitious-emp-preparedness-executive-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=45341","title":{"rendered":"Trump Signs Ambitious EMP Preparedness Executive Order"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theorganicprepper.com\/emp-executive-order\/\">Trump Signs Ambitious EMP Preparedness Executive Order <\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After years of the government blowing off concerns about an electromagnetic pulse, President Trump has signed an executive order that will put EMP preparedness in the hands of the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What\u2019s in the executive order?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/executive-order-coordinating-national-resilience-electromagnetic-pulses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Executive Order on Coordinating National Resilience to Electromagnetic Pulses<\/a>&nbsp;is a first step toward learning more about how an EMP would affect us and how to protect critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) has the potential to disrupt, degrade, and damage technology and critical infrastructure systems. &nbsp;Human-made or naturally occurring EMPs can affect large geographic areas, disrupting elements critical to the Nation\u2019s security and economic prosperity, and could adversely affect global commerce and stability. &nbsp;The Federal Government must foster sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective approaches to improving the Nation\u2019s resilience to the effects of EMPs. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/executive-order-coordinating-national-resilience-electromagnetic-pulses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">source<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Order outlines the responsibilities of specific offices to help get the country ready for a threat to the grid and sets up a 4-year plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It is the policy of the United States to prepare for the effects of EMPs through targeted approaches that coordinate whole-of-government activities and encourage private-sector engagement. \u00a0<strong>The Federal Government must provide warning of an impending EMP; protect against, respond to, and recover from the effects of an EMP through public and private engagement, planning, and investment; and prevent adversarial events through deterrence, defense, and nuclear nonproliferation efforts.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0To achieve these goals, the Federal Government shall engage in risk-informed planning, prioritize research and development (R&amp;D) to address the needs of critical infrastructure stakeholders, and, for adversarial threats, consult Intelligence Community assessments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2017, those in the know were aghast when the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theorganicprepper.com\/north-korean-emp-could-kill-90\/\" target=\"_blank\">EMP Commission was defunded by Congress.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trump Signs Ambitious EMP Preparedness Executive Order After years of the government blowing off concerns about an electromagnetic pulse, President Trump has signed an executive order that will put EMP preparedness in the hands of the White House.
